Arunachal Pradesh losing revenue due to tax pilferage



Arunachal Pradesh is losing revenue due to tax pilferage at 17 Border Facilitation Counters (BFCs) in various districts of the state owing to under-dSurveillance CCTV Cameras. Responding to a question raised by BJP MLA Tangor Tapak, Tuki, who also holds the Tax and Excise portfolio said, due to non-installation of electronic weighing bridges and CCTV cameras, revenue leakages are taking place in all BFCs.

"Tax pilferage has always been a serious issue, which cannot be detected without any means and machines to monitor or ascertain the actual weight of the goods. To check such leakage of revenue, the department has created an enforcement wing, to visit the BFCs from time to time," Tuki said.

The chief minister said that the department has installed electronic weighing bridges at Kimin,Sunglasses mp3 players Dirak, Hukanjuri and Kharsang BFCs and CCTV cameras along with dedicated broadband connectivity have been sanctioned for the BFCs at Gumto, Ruksin, Dirak, Hukanjuri, Kharsang, Kimin, Hollongi, Banderdewa and Bhalukpong during 2011-12 under Special Plan Assistance (SPA) projects of 2010-11, with a total estimated amount of Rs 171.1 lakh.The 8gb mp3 player comes in various sizes and colors.
